Perspective plays a large role in the narratives we tell about spaces, places, and people. In the social innovation world, defining people by their problems happens too often from people who don’t belong to the community they want to support. Farrah Nazir encourages listeners to look beyond perceived deficits to allow stories of strength to emerge. These stories of strength illuminate the presence of abundance within communities that can be overlooked by limiting narratives that breed a lack of trust and fear.

A talk by Farrah Nazir, New Fables Collective, from frank2022.
