Winstead takes listeners on the journey of her transition from a “professional anger fluffer” in the entertainment industry to becoming the founder of the Abortion Access Front. AAF uses comedy to destigmatize abortion and fight for reproductive rights. This movement embraces counter-messaging to talk back to harmful anti-abortion narratives. Media that is political and critical can be comedic and leveraged to make a real impact on pressing issues.

A talk by Lizz Winstead, conference host and comedian, from frank2022.
