Andy Burness is the founder and president of Burness Communications, whose mission is to empower people with information that can be used to improve the human condition and advance social change in the United States and around the world. Founded in 1986, the company has served over 400 non-profit organizations and was cited by Washingtonian magazine as one of 50 “Great Places to Work” in the Greater Washington area.

Burness is regularly sought after for counsel on strategies to increase the impact and amplify the voices of those committed to improving quality of life for people who are poor or vulnerable. His work as an advocate for social policy reform has spanned a broad range of domestic issues, from care at the end of life to educational opportunity, biomedical research to adolescent health, urban violence to medical ethics.
