The Center for Public Interest Communications (The Center) is hiring part-time student research assistants to support various research projects for, on average, 10-15 hours a week. The research assistant will work with the Center’s research director and team to conduct primary and secondary research to support projects with partners and to translate peer-reviewed research into evidence-based strategies that make up the Center’s training curriculum and research endeavors. This research includes creating literature reviews and conducting primary research with various identified communities.
We seek research assistants with experience with qualitative or quantitative research or both. The role will require effort to learn how to translate findings from research into actionable insights for organizations. Experience with business writing, teaching, community organizing or strategic communications are a plus.
The Center roots its work in disciplines such as social psychology, communications, anthropology, sociology, political science, organizational behavior management and public health. We encourage graduate students from these disciplines to apply, but welcome applicants from related disciplines.
Much of the Center’s staff works remotely. The team uses a number of online platforms to manage projects. Applicants must have access to a computer with Internet access and be open to learning and using new project management programs.
The Center is seeking diverse applicants interested in working at the intersection of communications and social change. We welcome applications from anyone who would bring additional dimensions to the Center’s research and service mission including women, members of under-represented groups, protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
